Networking is key no matter your area of business, and luckily if you’re based in or around the Clerkenwell area, it’s a real hive of activity, bustling with lots of great venues ideal for gathering with likeminded people, making a good impression and forging connections that will hopefully serve you well moving forward. Here are some of the coolest spaces in which to do just that.
Contemporary features compliment the original 18th century architecture at LSO St Luke’s, a vast and stunning event space. Natural light floods in the grand windows, highlighting the beautiful brick walls and other such characterful touches, but there are in fact tailored lighting packages available should you desire them, ensuring you really make the most of this wonderful Grade I listed building. The main space, Jerwood Hall, can accommodate up to 450 people, and there is a plethora of good transport links nearby which these many guests can utilise.
Body & Soul is a unique, creative and adaptable space, with several different areas which are able to be tailored to suit your desired specifications. Vaulted ceilings and large windows bring both charm and natural lighting into the spaces, whilst the interchangeable furniture allows you to switch between relaxed or formal gatherings, depending on the vibe you wanted. There is even the option of indoor football, table tennis and ping pong should you want to make sure any ice is well and truly broken.
The main space on offer at Warner Yard features a high vaulted ceiling that follows the original profile of the viaduct arch above, with the existing concrete floor still exposed and the walls built from London stock engineering bricks, giving the venue a distinctly urban and industrial chic flavour; a style that is hotly coveted on the events scene. The capacity allows for 80 guests, whilst the nearest transport links include Farringdon, Holborn and Chancery Lane.
If your business ventures have an urban or city focus, The Urban Innovation Centre could well be the ideal setting for your next networking event or corporate gathering. This leading collaborative hub has already hosted more than 160 events since it opened its doors in March 2015, with its 3 modern, multi-purpose spaces – The Workspace, The Auditorium and The Café – having served as the backdrop for the likes of product launches, workshops, panel sessions and staff away days.
If you want to bring a relaxed and welcoming edge to your event, Clerkenwell & Social would be a fine choice of venue. The eclectic design and literary theme (including books suspended from the ceiling) combine with unique house-infused cocktails and delicious hand-crafted pizzas to make for a fun and friendly space. There is the option to hire a number of different areas, what with the venue being comprised of 2 floors and an additional outdoor terrace.
