If you want to secure a booking for one of the coolest venues for a summer barbeque and party, don’t waste time! Take a look at the following selection and see what takes your fancy before you miss out.
Specifically designed with creativity and tranquillity in mind, MOTHER Juice Works is the ideal place to unwind with friends in a fuss-free yet beautiful setting. Picnic style seating is perfect for a BBQ, whilst the selection of plants found inside and the full-length windows which flood the interior space with natural light mean that even if you’re technically indoors (because let’s be honest, we can’t guarantee the good weather holding out all day), then you’ll still be in surroundings which feel fresh and airy.
STYX is a vast industrial warehouse that serves as a mixed arts venue, which in the relatively short time since opening its doors, has already played host to a wide range of different events and welcomed many fantastic artists. The garden, which is like a little urban oasis, comes complete with its own mini-river, bridge and (most importantly) a pizza oven. All-in-all, it can accommodate a generous 500 people, and the nearest rail link can be reached in just five minutes.
Located in a former stonemason’s warehouse, Grove Yard has a brilliantly raw, industrial finish that is so hotly coveted right now. Though it therefore has buckets of character as a given, it is in fact something of a blank canvas, being neutral enough to transform it into your own ideal space. With room for as many as 350 guests altogether, there shouldn’t be any dramas about people having to be cut from the guest list, and with good local transport links nearby, they should all be able to get there with ease as well.
White Post Hackney is a striking canal-side creative space with vast ceiling height and ample windows to let in an abundance of natural light. This contemporary interior captures the spirit of the trendy Hackney Wick area in which the venue sits – just a few minutes from the tube station of the same name in fact. Having played host to everything from music gigs to product launches, and wedding receptions to late night parties, they’ve certainly proven just how adaptable a space it really is.
Set within three beautifully restored railway arches, Beagle is a bar and multi-purpose event space that has won several design awards for its outstanding interiors. Once inside, it’s easy to understand why, as the distinct arched ceiling and characterful exposed brickwork hark back to the city’s Victorian past, whilst the décor, lighting and finer details bring it bang up to the modern day; the two opposing styles somehow working perfectly in harmony with each other.
