Location is key when it comes to a press show, as you want the event to be as convenient to reach and well connected as possible. That’s why the vibrant areas of Fitzrovia and Central London in general are so ideally suited to such an occasion. To make your search for the perfect space even easier, we’ve picked a few of our favourites to share with you here.
The period features found throughout 93 Mortimer Street contrast with the modern architectural touches to create a unique and visually striking venue that is sure to make an impression. It’s this old meets new styling that allows the space to lend itself to a variety of different event types, including a press show with a grand twist. The triple height ceilings coupled with the circular rococo/baroque skylights (which are as beautiful to look at as they are practical) ensure that the interior feels bright and airy. The nearest transport link is Oxford Circus and can be reached in just 3 minutes.
Also within easy walking distance of Oxford Circus – as well as Goodge Street and Great Portland Street – is Oui 2 Rooms, a multi-award winning showroom. In essence, it is something of a blank canvas, meaning you can tailor the space to suit your own particular needs. There’s still plenty of character to be found however, with industrial style pillars and exposed brickwork. The capacity strikes a good balance, in that it allows for a decent number of guests without being crammed to the gills, with a maximum standing capacity of 150 and a seated capacity of 80.
The London EDITION Basement has played host to an eclectic array of different events, both private and corporate alike. The atmospheric interior sets the scene for an intimate gathering, despite the generous total capacity which allows for up to 220 guests. There is a fully stocked bar to provide refreshments, whilst the state-of-the-art sound system and the custom lighting (designed by the revered Patrick Woodroffe) will help to ensure any production needs are met with ease. As for getting there, both Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus can be reached in little more than 5 minutes on foot.
Mortimer Street Gallery is well worth considering if what you are looking for is a venue that provides the scope for creativity when it comes to style and layout. This adaptable blank canvas boasts 2 spaces; the large open section at the front and the more intimate space at the back. Bright and airy throughout, it has a great contemporary edge, with handy onsite extras including a toilet, kitchenette and Wi-Fi, and the venue itself well served by its close proximity to local transport links. The most flexible arrangements tend to be available on Sundays and Mondays.
Edel Assanti in Fitzrovia has become hotly sought after by several cutting edge brands and fashion labels. The bright, neutral, open space can be kitted out to meet any manner of different requirements, with highlights including polished concrete floors, boutique lighting and a striking atrium ceiling which floods the space with natural light whilst also adding an industrial flair that keeps the venue bang on trend. Split across 2 floors, the downstairs space includes a kitchen, ideal should you wish to organise any catering for your guests, of whom you can expect to invite up to 175.
The perfect discreet meeting space, the London EDITION Penthouse, complete with custom furnishings, brings a touch of decadence and luxury to proceedings, with the decidedly more intimate capacity of 50 (standing) or 20 (seated) allowing you the chance to be a lot more hands-on and personal in your approach, allocating one-on-one time to each of your guests and really focusing on making a great impression. The wraparound landscaped terrace has the added benefit of wonderful panoramic views out across London, making for a beautiful breakaway space.
