Hosting an event on a roof terrace is a brilliant way to bring an instant hit of sophistication, helping the day to last in the memory of all who attend. Here are some of our favourite such spaces found throughout London.
Broadway House actually has two roof terraces to its name, offering views over Chelsea and Fulham. Indoor space, should you wish to utilise it as well, includes a private dining room and an overall sense of class and decadence courtesy of the luxurious décor. It has a generous maximum capacity of 800 and great local transport links for added convenience, including Parsons Green and Fulham Broadway tube stations, the latter of which is a mere stone’s throw away.
The Kia Oval is one of the most historic stadiums in the world, still hosting international and first class cricket matches in the summer to this day. Aside from this however, it also offers up its fantastic and extensive range of spaces for all manner of private and corporate occasions, from award ceremonies to Christmas parties, and product launches to formal dinners, to name but a few. The capacity allows for as many as 1000 guests, and they’re sure to make good use of the easily reached tube stations in the surrounding area.
58VE is a newcomer to the London events scene, having only launched in December 2016, but it’s a space sure to quickly cement its position as a go to venue amongst the city’s best. Purpose built event space and meeting rooms are on offer alongside the exclusive Lounge and Balcony, which boasts wonderful views onto the River Thames and the iconic skyline beyond. Centrally located, the nearest rail links include the likes of Temple and Blackfriars.
Dim lighting and the cosy atmosphere at Big Chill Bar make it an ideal place to gather with friends and unwind from the stresses of daily life. Eat, drink, listen to music and host your own party in this bar found in the heart of Brick Lane, enjoying tasty tipples and use of a bustling dancefloor. Other handy features include late licences lasting until 12am through the week or 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, projectors, free Wi-Fi, sets from top DJs and of course, the all-important terrace itself.
There are no less than 4 rooms and 4 outdoor terraces on offer at Egg London, meaning you are positively spoilt for choice when it comes to picking which space to use. This generous selection allows for gatherings both intimate and large, up to a total of 1400. The onsite kitchen means that organising catering shouldn’t pose any problems, whilst the proximity to good transport links such as Kings Cross St Pancras and Caledonian Road should also prove useful.
Proud East is a very charming and versatile offering, functioning as a café, restaurant, cocktail bar, pool room and multi-purpose event space tucked away on the banks of the Regents canal just off the popular Kingsland Road. Hosting all manner of events, from wedding receptions to corporate away days for up to 300 people, it is found in the Haggerston area, just 5 minutes or so from the station of the same name.
