To help you arrange the engagement party of your dreams, luxury wedding & event planner and the founder of Amaya Kavita Golia shares her top tips for throwing an unforgettable party to celebrate your upcoming nuptials.
Depending on the length of your engagement, you can have your party anytime from a few weeks into setting a wedding date to a few months into the planning. There is no rush; take time to savour the fact that you are getting married. Breathe and enjoy the journey.
Decide your budget and who you want to invite. When it comes to the guest list, anyone who is invited to your engagement party should be invited to your wedding. With this in mind, it wouldn’t be wise to have a huge guest list if you are intending on having a small wedding. Once you have numbers you can then get the ball rolling on the venue which is when it all starts to happen!
Your venue should reflect the type of party you want to have — there are absolutely no rules when it comes to your engagement party! You could do something fun like celebrating your engagement with a game of ping pong at Bounce or if with you have a larger budget, Kavita personally recommends ME London’s Radio Rooftop.
Think about the décor and menu’s. Do you want a venue which serves food? Can you get caterers in? You don’t have to have anything elaborate — you may simply want some canapes with drinks, a sit down meal or buffet style depending on the style of the party.
Your engagement party will give you some good experience for your wedding. The most important thing is to breath, don’t put too much pressure on yourself and enjoy the process.
