Unique Christmas party venues in South East London

We’re entering the swing of the festive party season, so if you want to snap up a last-minute booking for one of these unique South East London venues, we suggest you don’t wait around, as spaces as good as these will be claimed fast.

Horniman Museum and Gardens

Horniman Museum and Gardens is the perfect middle-ground for those who want the peace, tranquillity and beauty of a countryside retreat but who don’t want to sacrifice the convenience of the city. Set within 16 acres of landscaped gardens, spaces you can choose from include the Grade II listed Victorian Conservatory, the contemporary Pavilion, and the intimate Bandstand. Despite feeling removed from the bustle of the capital, you can in fact enjoy wonderful views of the city’s skyline beyond, and the nearest train station taking you back is just 10 minutes away.

The Arch Collective

The Arch Collective is found beneath a railway arch, hence the name, and offers a contemporary and minimalistic interior with generous ceiling heights, that can be tailored to suit your party’s individual needs. Fully climate controlled for maximum comfort, there is also a kitted-out kitchen area, ideal for organising any catering. The venue opens out onto a garden, ideal as a breakaway space or taking in some fresh air. The capacity totals 120, and the nearest rail links include South Bermondsey and Surrey Quays.

Hawker House

Hawker House is a sprawling indoor food and drink warehouse and multi-purpose event space that is open all-year-round. Comprised of 2 huge main rooms, 3 additional breakout spaces, 10 bars and 14 street food traders, you’ll be positively spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing how best to utilise the space on offer, which can accommodate up to a maximum of 3000 in all. Found in the Canada Water area, the station of the same name can be reached in just a couple of minutes.

The Bottle Shop

Also tucked beneath a railway arch, and thus featuring the distinct arched ceiling and industrial, old-school London flair that you’d expect from such a space, The Bottle Shop is every beer lover’s dream, home to a vast array of craft beer kegs and more than 350 varieties of bottled beer, much of which can’t be found anywhere else in London. For this reason, the most popular event style held here is understandably a tasting, but the relaxed and informal space is in essence a blank canvas for up to 100 people.
